Gastonia Medical Specialty Clinic was started in 1975 by Dr. Henry C. Thomason, Jr. Through the years we have changed locations, as well as specialties and services. Today we have grown to six providers, including three pulmonary
physicians, one internal medicine physician, two nurse practitioners, and a support staff of dedicated and friendly individuals.
Mikell J. Jarratt, MD
Dr. Jarratt joined the practice in 1994.
He is a graduate of the
University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his
internship/fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
He is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Internal Medicine,
and Critical Care.
He provides patient care in our pulmonary dept.
James E. Needell, MD
Dr. Needell joined the practice in 2000.
He is a graduate of
Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and
completed his internship at the University of Virginia.

Anup Banerjee, MD
Dr. Banerjee joined the practice in 2006.

Janet W. Kelchner, DNP, FNP-C
Dr. Kelchner joined the practice in 2011.
She has a DNP from Loyola
University in Louisiana, an MSN from the University of South Florida,
Tampa, and a BSN from the University of Central Florida, Orlando. She
is also certified by the AANP in family medicine and currently provides
care in our internal medicine department.
